Silent block replacement
A suspension bush is a bonded rubber-and-metal joint that absorbs vibration and holds the arm in its intended position.
Symptoms
- The car wanders on a straight road, and wheel angles don't hold after adjustment.
- A dull knock on acceleration and braking.
What's included
- When the rubber cracks or separates from its sleeve, play appears: the vehicle wanders, wheel alignment does not hold and a dull knock accompanies acceleration and braking. We assess it on a play detector because cracks can be internal. Replacement uses a hydraulic press: hammering damages the arm and new part. We tighten fasteners under load close to the working position, otherwise the bush twists and tears prematurely. Suspension-bush pressing in Kyiv uses our own equipment, so parts need not be transported to another workshop.
Why it matters
Cracks in a bushing's rubber can be internal, so its condition is checked on a play detector rather than by eye. Fasteners are torqued under the suspension's working load.
More details
A bushing is a rubber-metal joint that dampens vibration and holds the control arm in its set position. When the rubber cracks or separates from the housing, play appears: the car “wanders” in a straight line, the wheel angles don't hold after adjustment, and a dull knock is heard on acceleration and braking. We assess bushing condition on a play detector, not by eye — cracks can be internal. Replacement is done by pressing on a hydraulic press — knocking it out with a hammer ruins both the arm and the new part. We tighten the mounts under load, meaning in a position close to normal ride height, otherwise the new bushing gets twisted and tears quickly. We press bushings in Kyiv on our own equipment, so parts don't need to be taken to another shop.
