A/C System Sealing Ring Replacement (Empty System)
Sealing rings keep detachable A/C connections leak-tight. Hardening, assembly damage or an incorrect size can cause leakage even when the pipe is sound. This work applies to a refrigerant-free system, which is verified before dismantling. Rings are selected for the connection design and compatibility with system fluids, and sealing faces are inspected. A new ring may not be enough if corrosion has damaged the connection itself. The assembled joint needs a leak check before the circuit is returned to service.
Symptoms
- A leak localised at a detachable connection.
What's included
- Check circuit condition before opening connections.
- Inspect the old rings and sealing faces.
- Fit compatible rings and reassemble the joints.
