A/C Drain Channel Cleaning
The climate unit drain carries away condensate formed on the evaporator during cooling. A blockage can let water collect in the housing or enter the cabin. We first distinguish this from a body leak or another fluid source; a wet carpet alone is not a diagnosis. The accessible drainage path is checked and cleared without damaging the housing or tube. Afterwards, we verify water discharge and connection condition. Any inspection or drying of already wet trim is discussed separately.
Symptoms
- Water in the cabin after A/C operation.
- Condensate accumulating inside the climate unit housing.
What's included
- Identify the moisture source and access the drain.
- Inspect the channel, tube and connections.
- Carefully clear contamination from the accessible drain.
- Check condensate drainage after cleaning.
Why it matters
Persistent moisture can damage trim and nearby electrical connections. Clearing the drain does not replace inspecting areas that are already wet.
