Wiring Repair
Wiring repair restores a damaged circuit section after its location and cause are established. A chafed harness, wet connector or overheated terminal each requires a different approach, so simply joining a broken wire may not be enough. The repair method follows the circuit type, conductor size and protection requirements. Routing and strain relief receive particular attention. After repair, we check continuity and operation under the relevant load, addressing the original damage mechanism when securing the harness.
Symptoms
- A function cuts out when the harness moves or the vehicle hits bumps.
- Visible chafing, corrosion or overheating at a connection.
What's included
- Locate the damaged section and establish the cause.
- Select a suitable wire or terminal repair method.
- Restore the connection, insulation and protected routing.
- Test the circuit and consumer operation after repair.
Why it matters
An unsuitable repair can leave excessive resistance or an unprotected conductor. Insulation, support and removal of the damage cause matter as much as the connection itself.
