An on-board voltage check assesses the interaction between the battery, charging system and electrical connections. Readings vary with operating mode and control strategy, so a single measurement may not support a reliable conclusion. We measure in the relevant vehicle states and compare results with the particular system's requirements. Losses across power connections are examined where needed. The findings indicate whether the battery, alternator or wiring needs further testing; the service does not automatically include repairs to those parts.
