Relay and Fuse Check
A fuse protects an electrical circuit, while a relay switches a load in response to a control signal. When a consumer fails, visual inspection alone may not be enough: supply, contacts and activation conditions need checking. A blown fuse can be the consequence of another fault, so repeatedly replacing it without finding the cause is not a repair. We verify ratings and the vehicle circuit arrangement. The findings distinguish a fuse or relay problem from faults in wiring, controls or the consumer itself.
Symptoms
- An electrical consumer fails to switch on or works intermittently.
- A fuse blows repeatedly.
What's included
- Identify the circuit and relevant relays and fuses.
- Check ratings, supply and contact condition.
- Assess relay switching and fuse continuity.
- Explain the failure cause or the next diagnostic step.
Why it matters
Fitting an incorrectly rated fuse can leave a circuit unprotected. The cause of repeated operation must be found, not bypassed.
