Brake Light Switch Diagnostics
The brake light switch tells both the lamps and the vehicle electronics when the pedal is pressed. Worn contacts, incorrect switch positioning or a damaged connector can leave the brake lights on or prevent them from working. We check the supply, contact switching and whether the signal agrees with the actual pedal position. Adjustment is assessed separately where the design allows it. This distinguishes a switch fault from a wiring or lighting problem before a replacement is recommended.
Symptoms
- Brake lights fail to illuminate or remain on.
- A brake switch fault message.
What's included
- Check brake light operation through pedal travel.
